A Guide to Dryland Composting

Due to the severe aridity of our region, most composting methods do not work for us without unsustainable amounts of water added. This guide goes in-depth about how we do compost in-ground safely and effectively to rebuild collapsed soils.

All of the raised paths in this image represent areas of buried compost around infiltration basins that are being used to establish trees, edible cacti, and native scrub. This region is much more filled out now, but this image represents well the immediate end-result of our in-ground dryland composting technique.
